According to Ripley’s Believe It or Not, Strafford is the only town in the United States with two main streets and no back alleys. The town developers simply wanted “two front doors” to the city. This growing community sits along Interstate 44, and has approximately 2,500 residents who call it home. Strafford boasts four public parks, along with its Wild Animal Safari, a zoo that allows guests to drive right up to the animals. Each year, Strafford hosts its annual Route 66 Festival, a fall event celebrating the historic mother road with a classic car show, food, games and entertainment for all ages. While Strafford has a large presence of industrial commerce, it is well known for the quality of its schools, with Missouri rating it as “Accredited with Distinction”, the highest rating offered by Missouri Public Schools.
